Не знаю как поменять разрешения экрана в Ubuntu LTS 6.06

Что я пробывал ?;

1. Пробывал поменять разрешения экрана в System => Preferences => Screen Resolution - он показал чёрное окно с помехами на верху ( зелёные полоски ) и выбросил меня в Login Window, зашёл смотрю как было так и осталось.

2. Пробывал отредакртировать /etc/X11/xorg.conf вот так;

Стандартный xorg.conf ( не модифицированый )

ׁРезультат: разрешения осталось но теперь это как лупа - приходится мышкой двигать экран

ׁРезультат; Убунту просто не загрузилась пришлось заменять модифицированый xorg.conf на оригинальный.

Ещё проблема в том что у меня старенкий Radeon 7000 и вот что нашёл на сайте ATI в FAQ'e;

На сайте Utah-GLX project я ничего интересного не нашёл а вот что такое DRI я посмотрел у них на сайте:

Мне не нужен драйвер для игр и я не собираюсь работать с 3D modelling sofware мне просто нужно сменить разрешения экрана smile

Есть идеи ?( кроме как покупать новенькую видеокарту ) smile

Не знаю вот такой он у меня, я правда комменты убрал, я хотябы правильный хорг смотрю ? /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Ещё пробывал программу Resolution Switcher но эффект тот же что и в пукте 1.

В мануале по монику должны быть указаны эти параметры. Горизонтальная и вертикальная частота развертки. Только зная эти данные, X-сервер сможет правильно выбрать нужную частоту на каждом разрешении.

Эх, и вот спустя 2 месеца наконец поменял расширения экрана! smile

Расскажу как всё было, так как я не нашёл Мануал Монитора я бросил это дело правда иногда пробывал опять другими спосабами, сегодня решил опять вернутся и попробывать, пришла ко мне идея посмотреть на коробку монтира, посмотрел и вижу H Frequency 30-70, V 50-150- Frequency подумал я..а может быть H == HorizSync а VertRefresh это == V, поставил эти параметры в xorg.conf перезагрузился и нечего не изменилось потом я додумался изменить xorg.conf вот так:

doomik, если не ошибаюсь то то что ты сделал описано во многих мануалах smile

Но к чести убунту у меня она подхватила всё самостоятельно. А вот когда ставил kubuntu 6.10 то просто трындец. Сплошные глюки, тоже руками прописывал.

Захотел и я поставить нормальное разрешеие экрана. Закоментил старое свое и всталил этот конфиг только монитор помеля на Samsung и перестал загружаться буду рыться в конфиге ага у меня Geforce а не Radeon - может изи за этого ругаться Linux и выдаваться кракозяблики? Буду пробывать

во-первых, стоит настроить 3D, потомучто графика с аппаратным ускорением работать будет быстрее, почему от этого отказываться ?

дальше:
в убунту вродебы есть все драйвера. посмотри как называется драйвер ATI, наверно "ati" или "radeon"
и поменяй строку:

лучше всего , посмотри в /var/log/Xorg.0.log на ошибки, и оттуда ориентируйся.

Но у меня geforce а не радеон я думаю из за єтого икси не грузяться.
Как насторить 3D ускорение и что такое vesa скажите подалуста

В таком случае, должен быть пакет с драйверами для nvidia.

vesa - стандартные видео драйверы. Подходят для всех современных видюх.

В общем xorg.conf в студию.
А еще лучше попробуй просто загрузится в режиме recovery - она заново обнаружит железки твои.

Спасиб за ответы я вроде смог подгрузиться в иксах. оказалось закоментил лишние строки в xorg.conf
но я хочу работать чтобы монитор показывал 100Hz а у меня такого нету в выборе частоты. А я думаю видео карата GeForce 5200 128 MB и SamsungSync Master должны позволять это сделать. Скажите как мне сделать 100 hz

всё просто. бери мануал. там есть режимы. выбери подходящий, и установи нужные частоты,
в Modes пропиши только те режимы которые тебе нужны. не нужно все.
если карта от нвидиа новая - может стоит использовать самые посл. дрова, с сайта нвидии.
не знаю, возможно есть и ГУИ для всего этого. я говорю, что точно знаю как работает.

Berliner, частота указывается ( а точнее интервалы поддерживаемых частот ) выше в разделе "Device"

Вроде поправил xorg.conf а всеравно дает выбирать макс. частоту 85Hz это в Gnome(скажите почему это так).

перезагрузился, разрешение встало нормально, но потом пол экрана как снесло, слева и вверх, перезагрузился щас вроде нормально.

захожу не под root разрешение опять 600х800 что делать?

Под некоторыми менеджерами окон можно попробовать изменить разрешение на лету. У тебя что? КДЕ, Гном, XFce, еще что?

очень зря. Получилась идиотская строчка из 6 одинаковых разрешений, которая проблему решить не может. Верни обратно.
