Пожалуйста, приведите пример простого клиент серверного приложения, чтобы в качестве серверной части выступал сервис. Приложение должно запускать, скажем, блокнот.

Вот так всё работает. Но мне надо, чтобы сервер был реализован в виде сервиса.
