Только начинаю изучать Squid. (Squid стоит на windows XP) Настроил браузер для работы с ним, а он мне выдет: Цитата While trying to retrieve the URL: http://forum.vingrad.ru/forum/network_technologies.html The following error was encountered: Unable to determine IP address from host name for forum.vingrad.ru The dnsserver returned: Timeout This means that:  The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.   Check if the address is correct.  Your cache administrator is webmaster.  Я так понял не резолвиться домен? А почему? Странно, а почему у вас в конфиге не указана опция cache_dir? Нужно ее указать, а потом инициализировать кэш командой squid -z.

команда nslookup ya.ru выдает это: Цитата DNS request timed out.     timeout was 2 seconds. DNS request timed out.     timeout was 2 seconds. Server:  UnKnown Address:  78.111.240.2 DNS request timed out.     timeout was 2 seconds. DNS request timed out.     timeout was 2 seconds. что касается опции cache_dir, то не знаю почему нету. вроде сформировал структуру кеша вот так: c:\squid\sbin\squid -z -f C:\squid\etc\squid.conf Ошибок не было.

Странно на счет опции cache_dir, на никсах она обязательно, может на винде по другому о собран... Судя по результатам команды nslookup запрос к днс серверу (провайдера или еще кого, смотря как соединение настроено) не проходит. Какое у вас подключение к интернету?
