Application developer

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be attached to Intel's ISTG Business Group and will be participating in the full development cycle of the application starting from coding to the deployment, to production environment and support. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining computer-based systems to meet business requirements
- Analyzing, designing, constructing, training, and implementing application systems
- Activities include documenting decisions, adhering to standards and communicating with business groups
- Providing standards or guidelines for development, responding to customer/client requests or events as they occur
- Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment
- Participating in all phases of the software development life cycle to deliver applications that address business requirements
- Developing project plans, logical and physical design specifications, architecture diagrams, executable code, and unit/integration test plans and may be responsible for production support as well
- Critically analyzing application requirements and devise sound solutions to business challenges based on Intel common practice and industry standards
- Working independently on small application releases or as part of a project team on larger application releases. The applications that you support are for internal customers (employees) and Intel external customers, suppliers, vendors, and distributors

Skills and qualifications required:

You should possess a relevant qualification with minimum one year of experience in C#, minimum three years of experience in Java*, or minimum five years of experience in C++. Additional qualifications include:
- At least overall understanding in T-SQL* (Microsoft* SQL server 2000*), but advanced experience with database management is a definite asset
- Minimum three years of experience with database architecture for complex projects
- Experience with source control tools like VSS* and CVS*
- Experience with commercial projects is a must (outsourcing experience is a definite asset)
- Teamwork (team lead experience is desirable)
- Fluent English (ability to communicate over the phone with international customer at least on technical subjects)
- Must be strong problem solvers with the ability to methodically analyze and resolve programming challenges
- Must be comfortable seeking peer and supervisory guidance on complex application challenges
- Have a desire to learn and adopt new technologies and languages
- Ability to conduct research and development activities to improve your technical skills and keep abreast of new technologies
- Knowledge of business processes and data flow in the interpretation of requirements to develop functional and technical specifications and perform data modeling activities
- Possess technical knowledge to develop, optimize, test, and troubleshoot code
- Must be sensitive to deadlines and to the impact your work has on the overall project schedule
