Here we go, here we have: short cycle (12-16 weeks) projects to level up your skills quickly, implementation of complex analytical systems, challenge of taking into account controversial stakeholders views, exposure to cloud technologies (the database is already in the cloud and further system migrations are in progress), custom design of Cognos reports, UI Multi-lingual interface… and finally anyway making our world somewhat healthier.

Agile and Waterfall approaches are combined on these projects.

About the customer:

Our client is a global pharmaceutical and research and development company, which offers innovative prescribed drugs, vaccines, biological preparations, and veterinary drugs. In their research activities, they focus on diseases, which affect millions of people all around the world, such as cancer and diabetes.

Requirements:

- 4+ years’ production experience;
- English of at least Intermediate (B1) level;
- Experience in leading and mentoring less experienced colleagues;
- Understanding of the solution business value and orientation on solving business problems;
- Expert Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and tuning skills. Acceptable – expert in any SQL platform and familiar with Oracle;
- Experience with Shell Scripting in Linux/Unix environment. Ability to write simple scripts;
- Experience with modelling tools, Power Designer would be a plus. Knowledge of application modelling languages / techniques (e.g. entity relationship modelling, UML) including the ability to create and read the associated diagrams;
- Solid understanding of transactional information systems and DWH principles. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Kimball and Inmon approaches;
- Familiarity with performance tuning techniques in the Oracle data warehouse environments such as partitioning, aggregated tables, other de-normalization techniques;
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle including database design and development;
- Data analysis/profiling and reverse engineering of existing BI solution;
- Hands-on expertise in ETL (familiarity with any ETL tool, e.g. IBM DataStage, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle Data Integrator; we use Informatica here);
- Understanding of MDM and data quality techniques;
- We expect you to be a team player with great communication and negotiation skills as you will be communicating with the customer directly;
- Possibility to go on business trips.

Responsibilities:

- Understand and review technical and business requirements, perform data profiling of required source systems and design ETL process flow;
- Design and implementation of Enterprise DWH;
- Provide best practices for ETL design: control flow, data flow, error handling, notifications;
- Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment of the data models for proper integration of Data across the entire enterprise;
- Assist BI reporting developers with data analysis and production-like data generation ;
- Assist BA with requirements’ clarification and technical analysis;
- Document architectural and ETL solutions.
