Ну, думаю, raise a finger - либо послать средним пальцем, либо показать большой типа всё ОК; 2 get your feet wet - потерять репутацию.

Насчёт cats and dogs очень интересует.

Ну это скорее "как кошка с собакой" Просто у них коворят короче: коты и псы...

у меня есть очень много идиом и описания к ним есть на английском, прям на столе лежат как раз читаю я их сейчас ... могу попробовать отсканировать, если кому интересно будет, а еще на работе книжка есть, так там вообще с картинками даже!
