Software Engineer
We need engineers to develop the next generation search engine. Our engineering team is working on problems in a number of areas, including cutting-edge information retrieval algorithms, scalability issues related to dealing with huge amounts of data and a rapidly increasing user base, and a variety of novel search features. Requirements:

    * University Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field (MS or Ph.D. a plus).
    * Strong C/C++ or Java programming skills.
    * Substantial knowledge of UNIX/Linux or Windows environments.
    * Extensive experience designing and programming large scale, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval algorithms, network programming, Linux kernel and/or developing large software systems.
    * Several years of software development experience.
    * Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems.
    * Fluent in English and Russian. 

Technical Lead Manager
We need technical managers to lead the development of the next generation of Google products. Our engineering team is working on problems in a number of areas, including cutting-edge information retrieval algorithms, large-scale cluster computing, systems software, Java applications, and a variety of novel search products. As a TLM you lead 6-12 engineers on 2-4 projects and are responsible for all aspects of these projects (technical success, mentoring and training, project schedules, coding, design, review, documentation, etc). Management and technical contributions are equally important in this role. TLMs are expected to contribute technically to their project, and the interview process will emphasize technical skills and management/organizational skills equally.

Requirements:

    * University Degree in Computer Science (Ph.D. a plus).
    * 5+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience with a record of strong individual technical achievement.
    * 2+ years of relevant experience leading projects of small to moderate size.
    * People management skills, proven track record of mentoring and coaching team members.
    * Strong C/C++ or Java programming skills.
    * Substantial knowledge of UNIX/Linux or Windows environments.
    * Extensive experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval algorithms, network programming, Linux kernel, and/or large software systems.
    * Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems.
    * Fluent in English and Russian.
