 Job Purpose: 

 Financial software is extremely complex and with more difficult modelling arriving on the market, the software/hardware to power these programs has to be at optimal standards. With this in mind it is required to work at the forefront of new technologies e.g. Java Release, Operation System, Sybase and Oracle, benchmark new UNIX mainframes for performance recommendation for clients, work with specialised colleagues to optimise the performance of Client software, deal with production problems and react quickly and professionally to understand the issues in order to make recommendations. 

 Performance/Architecture consulting is a specialized offering at the service of our clients to assist on specific missions including the optimisation of hardware, software, data models, business models and user behavior. 

Responsibilities: 

 • Understand financial software and apply creative solutions to complex problems 
 • Assist in the design and testing of new optimisations for Hardware and Software 
 • Work closely with the development and consulting teams in Dublin, Asia and the US. 
 • Understand complex financial configurations to optimise performance for clients. 
 • Train clients on the performance aspects of the software and hardware used by Client 
 • Test functionality and performances of new developments 
 • Create automated testing tools 

Experience Required: 


 Professional / Academic 

 • 1.1 or 2.1 Bachelors / Masters degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Science 
 • 450 + CAO points at Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) is essential. (Please list your subjects & grades achieved) 
 • Experience of working with UNIX, SQL 
 • Understanding of Oracle and / or Sybase 
 • General willingness to learn about new technology. 
 • Fluent verbal and written English is essential 
 • Proficiency with MS Office suite of applications 
 • An understanding of financial markets would be beneficial but is not necessary
