DESCRIPTION

Currently we are looking for a Senior JavaScript Developer for our Minsk office to make the team even stronger.

As a JavaScript Developer, you will be building the brand new user interface for the product that will serve more than 10 million people in 14 countries. We are seeking a passionate and talented engineer eager to and ready for challenges. Using JS, HTML and CSS, you will be developing a breathtaking UI for the next generation set top boxes (STB), at the same time optimizing performance and stability for very limited resources. The STB is an imbedded device that has a custom Linux on the back-end with a custom version of a WebKit-based browser, and the UI we build for it is not a classic web application as there is no mouse pointer or keyboard — only read-copy-update.

We use SCRUM on this project and encourage close communication among all the involved parties. The UI team is located in Minsk and Amsterdam, and you should be ready for business trips to Amsterdam and Mechelen for different kinds of enhancement issues.

ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

Our client is the world’s largest global cable company with operations in more than 30 countries. They offer innovative and enhanced video products, including revolutionary media and entertainment platforms.

Project technologies and tools:

Responsibilities:

- Develop new functionality;
- Work both independently and in close collaboration with others in the team and other involved vendors;
- Write fast code, find and fix memory leaks;
- Conduct code reviews;
- Create functional specifications.

Requirements:

- Expert knowledge of native JavaScript and its OOP peculiarities;
- Good knowledge of HTML/CSS (DOM operations, CSS animations);
- Upper-Intermediate and higher level of English: great verbal communication and business correspondence;
- Clear understanding of React JS, Redux JS and Immutable JS;
- Basic understanding of and experience with ES2015 and Babel JS;
- Knowledge of browser internals and JS processing;
- Ability to understand and write code fast, find and fix issues;
- Possibility to go on business trips.

Nice to have:

- Understanding of UNIX-like systems;
- Experience in Agile (Scrum) processes;
- Understanding of testing process.
